Dear member of SGBGJ,

SGBGJ born 2003 and still going strong.......
This first Newsletter after the very long break in SGBGJ's activities - summer holidays, Ramadan and Eid break - intends to update all our members on the planned SGBGJ functions and events in the near future as well as on the ongoing change in the coordination of  SGBGJ membership and activities. As you probably already know our longtime coordinator, Najwa Malik, left SGBGJ to take on a new job in a private company and we are expecting the members of the board to decide on the future coordinator during their next meeting.
I would like on this occasion to take the opportunity to thank Najwa for all she has done and wish her a successful professional career in her new job.
Some of the events announced in this Newsletter will be open to a larger public and others are limited to actual members of our group.

Highlights of the Past

The outstanding event - not only for SGBGJ members but for the whole German community in Jeddah together with numerous Saudi and other guests - in the last weeks has been the German National Day reception on the 4th of November at Crown Plaza Hotel.  More than 500 guests met in a very friendly atmosphere,  listened to the excellent speech of our Consul General, Dr. Lang, and enjoyed the nice food and the special cake.

Members' Corner:
In the beginning of December 2006 all former and actual members of SGBGJ will receive an application form in order to update our membership database. We kindly ask you to fill in this form with your most recent data, especially concerning eventual changes of telephone numbers or e-mail addresses.
In the past years, the coordinator got a certain number of complaints by some members, about not having received the Newsletter or the invitations to some of the functions. It usually turned out that these people had omitted to inform the coordinator about their changing e-mail addresses.
